Creative coaching & mentorship for tenderhearted writers and divergent humans

Because your creative life is your real life.

1:1 Creative Coaching: $777/month · 3+ month commitment · Payment plans and sliding scale available

Your creativity belongs to you

It’s not something you have to justify or earn, and it isn’t reserved exclusively for the disciplined, the endlessly productive, or those with time to spare. Some of us want softer, broader ways of working, ones that honor seasons, cycles, and lived experience alongside outcome.

Creativity is an innate part of being human—and all the more vital to protect when you’re neurodivergent, highly sensitive, or tenderhearted.

A creative practice isn’t an escape from the world, but how we deepen our participation in our own lives.

In my 1:1 coaching and mentorship work, I help writers, artists, and curious humans reconnect with the creative spark that has always belonged to them.

I've supported creatives with...
Book manuscripts · Hybrid essays · Newsletters · Podcasts · Workshops · Poem cycles · Chapbooks · Creative business endeavours · And more

Together, we rediscover—and then nurture the heck out of—your unique creative blueprint.

We do this work holistically, by getting ferociously curious about not just the practical aspects of writing and making, but the spiritual and emotional ones, too.

Your “real life” doesn’t have to be at odds with your creative life. We get tricked into believing this when the only model we have is one that doesn’t accommodate us (usually: a patriarchal, neurotypical, and capitalistic one).

Let’s create a space of deep attention, play, enthusiasm, and genuine presence—one where your ideas can breathe, your instincts can re-emerge, and your creativity can belong to you again.

Your creativity is an ecosystem. Let’s nourish the whole thing.

H‍i, I’m Sarah. I’m a lifelong writer, autistic human, and ex-social worker turned trauma-informed creative mentor and coach. ‍

I help people like you—neurodivergent folks, creative weirdos, purpose-driven artists & sensitive souls—move past struggles and toward creative freedom. ‍

“As a creative coach, Sarah offers so much more than cheerleading, accountability, and frameworks for creative projects. She also has an uncanny ability to process my frustrated rants and philosophical musings into feedback that gives me more insight into my own needs than therapy ever did!

To call Sarah a creative coach is much too simplistic. She is part creative guru, part therapist, and a master at helping me tap into my own dormant creativity.

Sarah helped lead me back to loving and appreciating my creativity with her incredible patience and therapeutic support.”

– Christie

Inside the creative laboratory

So many of us learn to relate to our work—and ourselves—through pressure instead of play. Creative coaching is how we address this wound directly and bravely. It’s part coaching, part brainstorming, and part spacious laboratory.

What do we do inside this magical laboratory?

  • Prioritize curiosity, pleasure and play

  • Clarify your intuitions and dreamiest dreams: what you actually want to make

  • Untangle the fears or beliefs constricting your natural creative process

  • Explore your patterns and tendencies with compassion and curiosity

  • Experiment with new ways of approaching the page and your work

  • Develop practices that are fluid, accommodating, and sustainable, so that creativity remains a lifelong companion

This work is practical, relational, emotional, and deeply human

My clients often leave our sessions feeling lighter and clearer, more connected to themselves and more excited about their work.

“I came to Sarah because I was creatively stuck, frustrated and blocked. I had spent a full year trying to write a book proposal for my publisher but no matter how hard I tried, I just couldn't do it. Everything felt so hard and impossible, until I met Sarah. She has helped me build a sacred connection and relationship to my creativity.

If you are wanting to come home to this sacred part of yourself or if you are wanting an incredibly gifted and wise writer and editor on your side, Sarah is that person. Your life will change if you venture down your own journey with her support.”

– Sarah Baldwin, Somatic Experiencing Practitioner

Together, we’ll decolonize your inherited beliefs about work and worth and co-create more feral, liberatory frameworks

Let’s disrupt the hierarchy that keeps creativity on the perpetual back-burner. Let’s replace mandates of productivity with the slower, more seasonal pace of fruitfulness. And let’s swap external validation for internal permission: a fortitude of self that lets you show up and participate in the world unmasked, heart-forward, and exquisitely attuned.

Our creative pursuits are not at odds with the world’s inequities and devastations—the opposite: artmaking has always been an ally of change and advocacy. Self-compassion is necessary not only for the health and vitality of your individual creative practice (let alone wellbeing), but for how we collectively show up, greet, and witness each other in the shared world.

My approach to this work brings together wonder, rebellion, and sincerity all at once.

Let’s reclaim creativity as nourishment (not luxury).

“i didn't know what a creative mentor was until i met sarah. and now i know its:

  • patience and curiosity

  • interest and enthusiasm

  • dignified witnessing

  • sometimes collaboration

  • sometimes instruction

  • a deep long look in the mirror where you can finally see yourself clearly.

  • a space where you can feel like yourself and think like yourself and express express express until it gets less hard and fraught and obstacled

  • sometimes you just gotta move your desk around”

– Emilie

How we work together

I work with clients in 3+ month containers. During this time, we dive deep into three areas:

Practical needs

From habits to skills to time management, we’ll identify the practices that accommodate your authentic, holistic self.

Whether you’re working on a specific project or just dipping your toes back into your creative waters, we’ll identify clear, actionable steps to move you forward on your unique journey.

Emotional needs

As a trauma-informed and strengths-based practitioner, I know firsthand—both professionally and personally—that creativity touches all of it: our wounds, our gifts, our sensitivities, and our needs.

As such, our work together will honor and attend to the emotional realities that impact your creative channel, making space for the full scope of you.

Spiritual needs

What role, if any, do ritual & magic play in your creative practices? How do you understand and articulate your sense of purpose? How does your connection with the natural world inspire what shows up on the page?

Your creative ecosystem wouldn’t be what it is without these ephemeral, harder-to-account-for aspects of who you are. Let’s make space for enchantment, too.

‍“Working with Sarah is like inviting Creativity to a loving family therapy session. For me, she has brought the breath of air when my embers are threatening to smolder out.

She does this through careful listening, presence and insightful questions. I believe that asking the right question at the right time is an art form, and Sarah is a goddamn wizard at it.”
